Multi-site position supporting Antelope Valley

• Lancaster and Palmdale
• Requirements to Apply:*
• Bilingual: English / Spanish*
• Strongly Preferred Certifications: Dental Assistant, X-Ray, Infection Control and CPR/BLS
• Education/Degrees: HS Diploma or equivalent
• Years of experience: Minimum 6 months of experience
• Knowledge of specific issues related to Oral Health Education, especially for children and underprivileged communities
• Must be very outgoing, have a positive attitude and self-motivated, love talking to people, and must love working with children*

The Oral Health Team Assistant is responsible for explaining the benefits of good oral health along with potential care options to patients and their families as well as for handling basic patient marketing activities for the Dental Department at various company and non-company sites. The assistant will start and end their day at assigned location in South LA clinics. In the event travel is required between offices, assistant is reimbursed mileage between clinics (not for the initial clinic of the day).

• Schedule:* Monday
• Friday with rotating Saturdays
• 2 Saturdays per month. When working a Saturday, you will have 1 weekday off.
• Times:* 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Location: Multisite Float -
• 1 location in Lancaster, 2 locations in Palmdale
• Pay rate:* $20.00 to $23.00 per hour (Depending on experience. RDAs up to $25/hr)
• Responsibilities:*
• This is a team made up of a dental assistant and a dentist that go to our medical sites that do not have a dental clinic and they provide oral health screenings, oral health education and topical fluoride to patients and refer to one of our Dental Home Clinics.
• Prepare and deliver oral health presentations, along with potential care options, explaining the benefits of good oral health to patients and their families at various sites.
• Set up and coordinate all aspects of Health Fairs and other community outreach activities.
• The Oral Health Team Assistant Maintains marketing and educational materials communicates basic oral health instruction and provides giveaways (educational flyers, Oral Hygiene bags, etc.…) to patients.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned by the Dental Director.
• Schedule and confirm appointments and perform all reminder calls.
• The Oral Health Team Assistant verifies insurance eligibility and performs financial screenings.
