Personal
My percentage of quality ABs (7+ pitch AB, hard hit, positive result) ranked 2nd highest among all Duke hitters for our fall season. I have speed on the base paths but am not a high quantity base stealer. Exit velocity with a metal bat in BP at Duke was consistently around 99-102.
My secondary position is CF which I feel the most comfortable with. I played there all 4 years at Wheaton. I put it as my secondary because I think Left fits me better at the pro level. I have a serviceable and accurate arm but not plus. I feel comfortable in right field as well.
If a teammate wants to hit in the cage to figure things out, as long as I don’t have a conflicting schedule matter I’d love to join him. I have learned a lot as I played my last year of college baseball at Duke from Coach Chris Pollard. I understand what it takes to win and lead when it calls for it. I’m on the quieter side, I try to lead by my actions, and I prioritize what I need to do in order to set myself up for success.
Career highlights
Greatest individual accomplishment was being named to the 1st team All Alaska Baseball League team in 2022. The next greatest accomplishment was my junior season at Wheaton College where I was a 1st team All-Region selection. I hit .388 AVG with 7 triples, 16 doubles, and 5 home runs. My most recent successful season was my season was my senior year at Wheaton where I hit .438 with 12 doubles, 3 triples at 2 homeruns.
I was a 2x team captain at Wheaton College. I led small groups at Wheaton for 4 years.
Coaching
I learned from Coach Chris Pollard to focus in on the details. I will push the players if I need to and develop in an environment of growth.
Overseas Goals
My last year of college baseball was a frustrating one. I had never had an unsuccessful season (performance-wise) before my year at Duke. It was the first time I dealt with heavy failure, and because of that I struggled with it. I believed I had proven myself as a D1 hitter at the Alaska Baseball League where I faced D1 pitching every day, and so it was frustrating to not show that at Duke. Throughout the spring I was deciding if I wanted to stop playing or not, to which then I realized I definitely still had the fire to keep training and playing. I am looking to pursue my career overseas to prove to myself that I can push through failures and come out the other side of it. I know that I can help a pro team out. At my best I’m a very tough out and a great competitor, and I believe my stats throughout college and summer ball have shown that.
July 2024- early spring 2025 I plan to rehab some minor injuries that I got over the years from trying to be in the lineup card every day (shin splints, limited hip mobility, etc.). I plan to rehab and also get on a rigorous training program to increase exit velocity. Overall I intend to dedicate 5ish hours a day to training and rehabbing. In the other time in the day I plan to coach at my old school, Wheaton College as a part time assistant.
