This reminds me of the concept from cognitive psychology called "Learned Helplessness." It's common for us as humans to face setbacks when confronted with challenges, which can sometimes lead us to believe that we're powerless to change our circ*mstances. I've personally gone through this phase, and I believe the most effective way to overcome it is by questioning the beliefs that make you feel trapped and reclaiming control over your life. If you weren't already aware of this concept, I hope this brief insight and the elephant story can assist you in breaking through any barriers in your life. 🌞

I've never pitch-slapped 🤚 anyone on LinkedIn, have you?I'll bet you have received a pitch-slap - or 50.The only positive about this is the new term we have to describe it - thanks, Ann!Here's why it's such a faux pas: because it isn't personal AT ALL. Sending a blanket message intended to be taken from the receiver and given to the sender is definitely a pitch-slap.Messaging should never be about you or even your audience. It should be about one person. It should be as personal as possible. You should know their needs and struggles and make a connection before offering a solution. Effective strategy, content, and patience are your friends here. When we do business right, everyone wins. And while there may be an effective cold pitch here and there, there is no room for a pitch-slap in business.

My brilliant friend Ann says influencers are OUT in 2024, and creators are IN. Further, Ad Age reports that marketers are tired of paying influencers just to create content, regardless of how it performs. Instead, they are looking to affiliate programs to better measure influencer marketing’s impact while cutting costs. Not to mention, AI can do much of the content creation these days (you still need good marketing/PR teams to execute a delivery strategy). It's going to be an interesting year! Like many, I choose LI versus other social media options to mostly avoid the shrill political diatribes that dominate SM. LI was the place for business and things that influence it. Well, what should be increasingly apparent to all is the inextricable link between all things, especially politics, and business. The level of ignorance in the US and the world, wherein so many embrace lies that are so blatant even a 5 year old should see through them, is a symptom of a society with deep-rooted problems and upon which any business success or investment cannot rightly depend. For many decades the US attracted the world’s brightest and most ambitious as well as the investment capital required to fund their pursuits. That was the root of the US’ success. The world’s brightest and most ambitious never relocated anywhere else nor did capital flow anywhere really but the US. The reason this Hamas story dominates LI is because it calls into question America’s foundation upon which any business success is dependent. This video very eloquently dismisses the ridiculous Hamas propaganda points that have been too broadly embraced. Let’s pray it helps re-awaken our society before its too late.
