How to randomize answers in a blackboard test? ›

In Settings, select Randomize answers to show Multiple Answer and Multiple Choice answer options to students in a random order. Answers appear in order as you create the test. Each time a student begins a test attempt, the answers appear in a different order.

Tips by Test Setting

All Questions at Once Test: Click the Save button as you answer each question. While Blackboard will auto-save your answers, clicking Save will record your answers each time you click it. One Question at Time Test: To navigate between questions, use the forward and back arrows on the test page.

On the Test Canvas, select Question Settings. On the Test Question Settings page, select Specify negative points options for answers. The negative points option appears only if you enabled the Specify partial credit options for answers option. Select Submit.

You can hide a column from students' My Grades pages while you assign grades and feedback. When you hide a column from your students, you still see it in the Grade Center grid. From the Grade Center, access a column's menu and select Edit Column Information. On the Edit Column page, navigate to the Options section.

Student names are hidden while you grade, and they're revealed only after you post the grades. To enable this option, select Hide student names in the settings panel of the tests and assessments. You can't edit the Anonymous grading setting after students submit attempts or open the assessment.
